Meet Jackie

Jackie Crawford is the founder of Canine Works. Canine Works is the realization of a dream to offer a multi-modality centre to help all dogs look and feel their best.

Jackie’s inspiration is her furry family. She currently shares her life with her two show dogs; Golden Retrievers Shogun and Rapha. Her bond with them - as well as with her previous dogs Opus, Krug and all the others that came before them - has inspired Jackie to embark on this journey to help dogs live their best life for the longest time possible. That is her mission.

It is Jackie’s belief that grooming and muscle therapy should not be novelty treatments for spoiling a dog on a special occasion. If a dog cannot move comfortably, the quality of his life suffers; and if your dog is dirty and smelly with a matted up coat, he feels awful.

Jackie loves all dogs and has a special bond with them. You can be assured that your dog will be treated like one of her own when he comes for a grooming or muscle treatment.

Jackie has spent nearly 20 years grooming and showing dogs in the conformation ring to the highest standard and winning many Championship show awards. She has shown many breeds including Golden Retrievers (her current breed), poodles, cocker spaniels, springer spaniels and Great Danes. Jackie is knowledgeable in the conformation of many breeds and will style your dog according to the breed standard. Your dog does not have to be a show dog to receive the same high standard in grooming. Each dog that comes through her door is treated like one of her own and given the same love and attention.

Jackie has qualifications in Animal Neuro-Myofascial Release (ANMR), Veterinary Thermal Imaging, Canine Myofunctional Therapy and Emmett Therapy. Her qualifications in muscle therapy are the result of years spent taking her own show dogs to various complementary therapists and not seeing positive results from any single one therapy. She had to take the dogs to multiple therapists to obtain optimum results. Frustrated by this process, she started on a journey to help her own dogs by studying a range of muscle therapies. Today she shares this knowledge by helping many show dogs and pet dogs live a pain-free life.
